4 Blessings and a Curse

Blessing 1)  I know that in a previous blog I had written that Carl may have felt the baby move but the more I feel this baby moving, the more I think that that was just a little gas bubble :)  BUT on the weekend, the baby was being pretty active and Carl really did feel the baby move!  Today marks 20 weeks into the pregnancy and we are getting more and more excited to meet our little girl!

Blessing 2)  Carl had his first job interview!  Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief, the interview was for a job in Vancouver :)  Carl feels the interview went well and although he doesn't have high hopes because they are looking for someone with more qualifications, it was good interview practice and gives us hope that something will come about!  We should get an answer this week as to whether he got the job or not!

Blessing 3)  Carl is officially DONE school!  His final report came back with minimal corrections which he was able to make in a day.  He officially handed in his report this morning and will be applying for graduation status this week!

Blessing 4/Curse)  When we received notice that Carl got his report back, he made the corrections right away and saved it on a USB so he could take it to Staples to get it printed.  The next morning he went to turn the computer on and nothing happened...After taking our computer in for diagnosis, we've discovered that the LCD screen is shot and will cost over $700 to get repaired!  Sooooo, the blessing - Carl was able to save his report the day before the computer quit!  The mishap...We don't have a computer!  I'm currently on my lunch break at work writing this blog just to give you all the heads up that it might be awhile before I post again!  We are praying that we are able to save all the information from our old computer (Carl's resume, all of our pictures, etc!), which shouldn't be a problem if it is just the LCD screen that's gone!

Now the pending question is, do we buy a new computer or go ahead with our plans to explore the East Coast?......

Pretty in Pink

Today was a big day for Carl and I.  We had our 19 week ultrasound and found out
IT'S A GIRL!

We're very excited!  The baby was moving around quite a bit so it was hard to get a good picture.  She was also playing a bit shy, hiding between the uterus and placenta as you can see in picture 2.

The tissue on the left is the placenta, the tissue on the right in the uterus and squeezed
in the middle is our little girl.  If you look closely you can see her little eyelids,
nose, mouth and her little arm going across her face.
During all her movements, she was opening and closing her little hand giving us the peace sign a few times with her teeny fingers!
Hi Baby!
We are now at 19 weeks and 1 day and about halfway through the pregnancy!  Can't wait to start buying pink!

Why Can't Every Weekend Be A Long Weekend?

For the long weekend we were able to get out on our first camping trip of the season!  The weather was gorgeous (25 and above)!  We snuck out for a 4km hike before heading out for the weekend and got this lovely view!

Saturday morning we picked up our friend Matt and headed to Charleston Provincial Park, one of our favorite campgrounds close to Kingston!

Carl making our delicious breakfast of french toast and sausage!
On Sunday, about 6 of our friends and their kids came out for the day!  We spent it soaking up some sun and for those who were brave enough, swimming!

Carl, Matt and I also rented a canoe and went for a few nice paddles around the lake.  We ended our trip with 5km hike!

The weather has been beautiful and according to this weeks forecast, it's supposed to stay that way!  No news on the job front however, our new plan is to stay in Kingston until the end of August unless of course a job opportunity arises at home in the meantime!

Hope you all got to enjoy your long weekend!

Greetings Family, Friends and Fellow Followers

It is with not very much news that I write this blog but I had a few pictures to share so I thought hey, I should write a blog!  So without further ado, here are the pictures I speak of:
This lovely photo was taken just a few days after Carl sent his final report off for external review!  You'll notice he's sporting a lovely new watch!  A grad gift from yours truly.  The hard part of Carl's report is done, now he awaits approval from external (there will likely be a few corrections to make) and then it's official, there will be an Urban Planner in the family!

The photo above is ME and as you can see I am sporting a lovely little baby bump!  In this picture I am 16 weeks and 6 days!  I may have been feeling the baby move a little within the last week or so but am still unsure if it's the baby or possibly just flatulence trying to escape.  If it really is the baby, then Carl actually felt it too for the first time last night!

Overall we are both doing well. Carl is adjusting to his life of leisure...Ok maybe between the lists I leave him, him filling out job applications and working on another certification via correspondence it's not that leisurely...We are both anxiously awaiting to hear news about jobs in which we have applied for and appreciate all prayer regarding the big decision we will have to make within the next month or so - to come home or not to come home?  A job would help answer that question!

NOTE: Please do not post anything on Facebook about Funk Junior as it may have an affect on future jobs!  Thanks!
